Estudar Foundation announces new scholarship holders for the 2022 Leaders Program Copy
Fundação Estudar announced yesterday (August 1), at the Lidera event in São Paulo, the new scholarship recipients for the Líderes Estudar 2022 program. This year, the foundation invested around $1.2 million in scholarships, which represents a 20 percent increase compared to the previous year.
Out of more than 33,000 applicants, 30 young individuals were selected. For the first time, the number of women (16) surpassed the number of men (14). Additionally, 9 of these students, including both undergraduate and graduate candidates, will attend Harvard University.
The most common career paths among the recipients were entrepreneurship and private sector management, with 11 students, and government and public administration, with 10 scholarship holders.
The Líderes Estudar program was created 31 years ago by Jorge Paulo Lemann, Beto Sicupira, and Marcel Telles with the goal of providing resources and accelerating the careers of young Brazilians.
Since 1991, 790 students have received support from the program. Among them are notable names like Carlos Brito, former CEO of AB InBev, Pedro Franceschi and Henrique Dubugras, co-founders of the billion-dollar company BREX, and Joice Toyota, co-founder and executive director of the nonprofit Vetor Brasil.
